This is a space where you will be kept regularly up to date on the valuable work being done by PCF for children in the Rakai district of south-western Uganda, the progress of our students on sponsorship, profiles of our sponsors and other relevant information pertaining to the PCF.

Meeting of Trustees

The first Board of Trustees meeting for 2009 was held on January 24th. Another meeting will be held on May 7th and the Annual General Meeting will be held on September 10th.

Publicity, donations & assistance

Chairman, Dr. Veronica Evelyn, recently had an opportunity to meet with Mr. Douglas Holland, a counsellor in Political & Economic Relations and Public Affairs at the Canadian High Commission. He has promised to forward information on the objectives of the Proteqt Children’s Foundation to his contacts at AIDS Free World. AIDS Free World is an international advocacy organization that works to promote more effective global responses to HIV and AIDS. Becoming affiliated with advocacy groups such as AIDS Free World can prove very useful in furthering the goals and mission of PCF.

Another male student was admitted to Kiteredde Secondary School, near Kyotera. The remaining three students, all girls, have been admitted at Christ The King Secondary School, which is a good girl’s school in the Rakai District.Mr. Lugwana explained that the schools mentioned above all have a high standard of academic performance.
